Every troubleshooting guide
Each guide walks the causes in priority order with a fix for each, and points to the gear that solves it on the printer you actually own.
How it works
How this tool works
Each symptom in the list maps to the failure modes that cause it most often in home FDM printing, ranked by how frequently they turn out to be the culprit. Stringing is usually retraction or temperature; a first layer that will not stick is nearly always bed distance or a dirty surface; lifting corners point at cooling and adhesion; gaps and weak walls point at under-extrusion. The tool shows you the most likely cause first and the single fix that resolves it most often.
It deliberately gives one fix, not ten. The fastest way to lose a weekend is changing five settings at once, so the first fix is the one with the best odds and the lowest cost, and the linked guide holds the rest of the ladder if that one does not land. Where a part or accessory genuinely solves the problem, such as a build plate, a dryer or a nozzle, the result says which category to look at and why.
Reading the result
How to read your result
Apply the first fix, reprint the same model, and compare. If the symptom is gone, stop there. If it is better but not gone, keep the change and move to the next step in the linked guide rather than reverting. Two partial fixes stacked are usually the whole answer.
If the first fix makes no difference at all, the cause is probably the second one on the list. That is why the result names the most likely cause rather than hiding it: you can rule it in or out yourself in one print.
FAQ
Questions people ask
My print shows two symptoms at once. Which do I pick?+
Pick the one that appears first in the print. A first layer that did not stick causes warping and gaps later, so fixing adhesion often clears everything else. If both appear at the same height, start with under-extrusion, because it masquerades as several other problems.
Does the advice apply to resin printers?+
No. The causes here are specific to filament printers: retraction, bed adhesion, cooling and extrusion. Resin failures come from exposure time, supports and release film, which is a different checklist.
Why does the tool link a product for some symptoms and not others?+
Only where a part is the real fix. Wet filament needs a dryer and a clogged nozzle may need a new nozzle, but stringing is a settings problem, and selling you something for it would be dishonest.
Is it worth changing slicer profiles instead?+
Only after one fix at a time has failed. A fresh manufacturer profile resets dozens of values, so you learn nothing about which one was wrong, and the next spool brings the problem straight back.
